2004-11-25 and it was 10:42 p.m. when I wrote this:
Today was absolutely the best Thanksgiving I have ever had to date!!! I went to D-ville...that's Dresslerville, my mom's rez. Oh I just love my aunts...all three of them. I didn't see any of my mom's bros but i did see my uncle Bud. I got to see 5 of my girl cousins and one boy cousin. Man I just loved bein up there. I got to see my gu-u. And there is a way about the elders that went to Stewart Boarding School. They act different in ways that I can't really understand but notice and sense. My gram I live with is the same way.
Anyhow the day started off with my bro Matthew walking into my room. I was all...what the heck!!!..word was that he wasn't coming home till Saturday. It turns he wanted to surprise my mom and the marines discharged him early. So anyway...I was so happy!! I made him breakfast...I love doing that!! I love making food for men who like to eat. I was talking with my bro and drinking my coffee. If he hadn't come in I would have stayed in bead much longer.
We were the first ones to arrive in D-ville and my aunts were all sayin that my mom was going to freak out when she saw matthew because she didn't think he was coming. ANyways...we went up to my aunt ann's house. Elmer and MOnica showed up. After they showed up my mom showed up to my aunt ann's house first....ha ha. She started crying and was so happy to see matthew. My aunt Audi ran up the hill to see her reaction...shew as a little late.
Anyways...so my dad and elmer went to get some of us coffee...then it was time to eat. We went down to Aunt's house...aunt janet. Before we ate Bud said some awesome words. He said Semper Fi to my bro because he was a former marine also. I thought that was awesome. All the men were given a chance to speak. My dad and matthew spoke...elmer didn't. My dad said he was happy for his kids.
Yesterday I was in the Wednesday Newspaper. I woke up and my grandma told me I was in the paper. I danced Tuesday at Truckee Meadows Community College and I was interviewed. I almost forgot all about that. Man things have been so busy. Last Thursday and Friday I was in L.A. then I got back to REno for a night then headed to Susanville fot the pow wow. MOnday night I had a program up at unr and i danced again...a lot of dancers showed up from fallon, reno-sparks, pyramid lake!! it was awesome. Red Hoop and Pudu Numu came and sang together...they were awesome. My Hoop dancer friend showed up!! he was awesome. My friend Kenny showed up!! He's so awesome. After we got done with the program I rushed up to catch Kenny's b-ball game. He plays intramurals!! Earlier that day he showed me a tape he made for a presentation in his english class!!! Then we went up to check out if some guys were breakin because my cousin says he practices up at unr Lombardi between 8-10 at night. So we went up there and there were two guys up there so we sat and watched...then we talked, got coffee, and talked. in the morning I got up and got ready to dance...I saw Sherry and she is so awesome...she paid me to dance at TMCC!! I went home and got up the next day and danced Traner....so all in all i have been busy. My dad was proud of all that.
It's awesome. SO today....I had a great time. I felt so blessed for my family. My aunts are just crazy together...just laughin and all that. My aunt's daughters are all funny too...they are all giggley.
